The foreign direct investment is the acquisition by a resident(s) of one country 10% or more of the voting power in the capital of another country’s resident organization, all financial claims and liabilities with those investors and related organizations, as well as the share of those investors in organization profit. Direct investments are implemented: 1) In the authorized and emission capital, in the form of bonds, shares, equity participation, i.e., when another organization is managing the voting shares (common stocks, interests, shares) of not less than 50% (subsidiary) and when another organization owns 10-50% of the voting power (affiliated company), 2) In the direct investor’s share to the other elements of entity’s own capital, 3) In debt instruments. out in form of bonds, other securities (excepting shares), credits, loans, deposits.

The main sources of data collection are the foreign investments and foreign investment implementing organizations, as well as data and additional calculations received from RA Central Bank on indicators of foreign investments. The data collection is implemented by the statistical reporting form in accordance with the Annual and Five Year Statistical Programs (https://www.armstat.am/am/?nid=80&id=2271).
